In Azimuth we seek adventure and a hunger for discovery; a desire for unseen sights and experiences waiting to be savoured. Drawing inspiration from the well-grinded race tracks, the folks in Azimuth fueled their passion in vintage race cars and premiered their latest 2016 avant-garde creation- the Twin Turbo (TT).
Loaded with technical and design bravado, the first thing that strikes you about the watch is its sculptured case design constructed to resemble the sexy silhouette of the 60s vintage racing cars. The soft curves of the watch case set a smooth tone to the entire timepiece.
The Twin Turbo high-octane appeal extends to what lies underneath the watch cover - a re-engineered case construction which addresses the watch’s automotive inspiration. The ingenious cover design of the watch mimics the technical construction of the car bonnet, which allows the wearer an even more intimate engagement as he flips it up to reveal the engine block as he fuels the power trains via the crowns.
Powered by a rare vintage calibre from the 1960s, the manual-winding movement faithfully mirrors the gearbox system of yesteryears automotive technology. The dials of the Twin Turbo take their design cues from vintage speedometers on the dashboard, which offers the wearer 2 time zones readings at a glance.
The Twin Turbo 2 times can be independently set, allowing the wearer the freedom to set the time in countries which adopt half hour or quarter hour time zones. Paired with leather strap featuring contrast stitching and a ribbed pattern that enhance the watch’s sportiness, one can easily relate it to the vintage sports car seat.
The Twin Turbo is available in the following executions: Yellow, Anthracite and Silver. Each is a limited edition of 50 pieces. Azimuth has also created a boutique edition in Sporty Red, known as The TT PORTFOLIO, executed in 50 examples.
